The project concerns the renovation of an apartment in a 1970s apartment building, located in the area of Palaio Faliro. The main concept of the redesign focuses on modernizing the apartment in accordance with contemporary living needs, while also preserving its original character through the use of appropriate references. In terms of layout, a unified living area was created, which is now connected to the kitchen space, thereby offering more light to both areas and improving the flow of movement between them. Their connection was achieved through the use of a metal partition with glass panels, which also acts as a filter between the two spaces.

Regarding materials and colors, the main intention was to preserve the original character of the apartment and clearly link it to the 1970s through a contemporary approach. The dark marble flooring, a key feature of the apartment, was preserved and extended into the hallway, thus creating a smoother transition from public to private areas.

Volakas marble was used both in the kitchen and in the new bathroom areas, achieving a connection with the existing marble flooring, while also clearly distinguishing existing and new materials. The selected color palette draws clear references from the 1970s, as do the gold details found in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Following the same logic, green tones were used in the bedrooms, while the blue color of the bathroom furniture aims to establish a conceptual connection with the aquatic element of the Faliro area.
